Build Your Biz — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Build Your Biz (ABN 24 574 400 946), the registered business name of the trustee for the Mann Family Trust ("we", "us"), collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
We collect the information you provide through our intake questionnaire and in your dealings with us, including:
identity and contact details: your name, email address, phone number, suburb/state;
business details: your proposed or existing business name, ABN (if you have one), trade, services, working hours, service area, payment preferences, and content you supply for your website (including photos and a logo);
transaction details: records of the package you purchased (payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe, not by us); and
support communications: messages you send us by email, chat or text.
We do NOT collect or store tax file numbers, identity documents, or government login credentials. Identity verification for business registrations and payment services is completed by you directly with the relevant government service or provider (for example the ATO or Stripe), and that information passes between you and them, not through us.
We use personal information to:
deliver the services you purchased — including building your website, configuring software accounts in your name, registering your domain, and preparing your Launch Plan;
communicate with you about your order, provide support, and send service updates (including by SMS and email);
process payments and maintain business records;
improve our services and templates; and
with your consent or as permitted by law, send you information about relevant services.
To deliver the services, we share relevant information with service providers, each of which handles your information under its own privacy policy:
Stripe (payment processing);
Tally (our intake form provider);
Google (our order records are maintained in Google Workspace tools, and we set up your Google Business Profile);
Netlify (website hosting) and our domain registrar (domain registration in your name);
ServiceM8 and comparable software providers (accounts configured in your name);
Anthropic and comparable AI service providers (we use AI tools to generate website copy and documents from the business details you provide; we do not include sensitive personal information in AI processing); and
professional advisers, and government agencies where you ask us to assist you with a registration process.
Some providers may store information on servers located outside Australia (including the United States). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with Australian privacy standards.
We do not sell personal information. If we refer you to a third party (such as an insurance comparison service) we may receive a referral fee, but we do not provide them your personal information without your consent — you deal with them directly.
We store information in reputable cloud services protected by access controls, and we protect our accounts with multi-factor authentication. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the services and meet legal record-keeping obligations, then delete or de-identify it.
The website we build is yours. Any personal information your business collects from your own customers (for example through your contact form or job management software) is collected by you as its own controller, under your own privacy obligations. We recommend publishing your own privacy statement as your business grows.
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@buildyourbiz.com.au. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Our website may use basic analytics and cookies to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
